An adventurous girl cooks, eats and explores in Europe.
Anyone in Ireland and a bit hungover this Friday probably knows this, but this Thursday was Arthur’s Day. It is a bit of a made up holiday, starting as a celebration of the 250th anniversary of Guinness brewery and continuing as a celebration of music and pub culture. In Dublin, a list of bands performs at various mystery locations throughout city centre. You pick your pub and hope your favorite band is there. And everyone has a drink at 17:59 with a cheers to Arthur Guinness and the year 1759 – the start of Guinness. Maybe you missed Arthur’s Day, or maybe you’re trying the hair of the dog to recover from your festivities, but either way, it’s a lovely day for a Guinness!
